Contest Guidelines

  1. Each team is to be made up of 2 contestants.
  2. A Marshal is assigned to each team to ensure the team abides by the stipulated Contest Guidelines and Terms and Conditions. When in doubt, team members can consult their Marshal. At all time, each team must be accompanied by the assigned Marshal. They should not run off without the Marshal.
  3. The Organiser will decide on the first and last food item of the contest.
  4. Each team will have to consume the first food item. Following that, they will have to link the second dish with the last alphabet of the first food item, so on and so forth.

       Tom Yam Soup, Pasta, Apple Pie, Egg, Gado Gado, Ondeh Ondeh, Hamburger, Roti John, Nasi Goreng, Goreng Pisang.

  1. All food items must be in singular term. For example: sweet and not sweets.
  2. Brand names of food item are not allowed to be used in the contest.
  3. Each team must finish a minimum of 10 food items
  4. Drinks and fruits are not accepted as participating food items in the contest.
  5. All food items must be purchased within Downtown East. Contestants are not allowed access into Wild Wild Wet & Escape Theme Park.
  6. All teams must queue up to order the food items.
  7. The Marshals will pay for all food items ordered during the contest. All receipts must be given to the Marshal for record purposes.
  8. No food items should be repeated during the contest or the team will be disqualified.
  9. All food items consumed must be clearly recorded.
  10. All food items ordered, must be finished before the team can proceed to eat the next food item.
  11. Team members cannot seek outsiders’ help (including Marshal) to finish the food items and / or to think of the next dish. They are also not allowed to refer to any pre-prepared material(s).
  12. Upon finishing the 5th food item, the team will have to race back to the Foyer Stage to take the clue for the road block. Teams that fail to take the clue will be disqualified.
  13. All teams must queue up to take the road block challenge.
  14. Upon reaching the road block, team member(s) will have to perform a task in order to find out what is the final food item to be consumed.
  15. The team who finishes the last food item and race back to the Foyer Stage together with their marshal to trigger the finishing point mechanism, will emerge as the winning team. After which, the team has to give a brief rundown of the food items consumed to the emcee.
  16. Once the top 3 winning teams are determined, the contest will cease. The rest of the participating teams will be called back to the foyer stage for prize presentation.
  17. All teams will stand to win a prize. Any prizes won in vouchers or in kind cannot be exchanged for cash. Any prizes not claimed during the event will be forfeited.
  18. Teams will be disqualified if they violate any of the Contest Guidelines and/or Terms and Conditions.
  19. The Organiser’s decision is final.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Pre-registration is required for the contest.
  2. Registration fee is non-refundable.
  3. All registration must be made by 29 August 2008.
  1. Employees and immediate family members of NTUC Club, its subsidiaries and Downtown East Tenants are not eligible to participate in the competition.
  1. All contestants will be notified by phone. Contestants who cannot be reached by the Organiser will be disqualified.
  2. All contestants must report at the stipulated time. Latecomers will be disqualified.
  3. All participants must produce their NRIC for verification. NTUC Members must also produce their NTUC Card for verification.
  4. All contestants must be physically fit. The Organiser will not be held liable for any losses and injuries sustained, and/or food allergies during or after the contest.
  5. Contestants will be responsible for any damages made to any equipment and premises during the contest.
  6. Participation of contest indicate acceptance of Contest Guidelines and Terms and Conditions.
  7. The Organiser reserves the right to take photographs of the winners for publicity purposes.
  8. The Organiser reserves the right to change or amend any of the Contest Guidelines or Terms and Conditions at its own discretion without prior notice.
