Do something different with your dearest mum this Mother's Day. Sign up for a cooking class with mum and enjoy some fun and quality time together. Learn to prepare mouth-watering Singapore Chilli Crab with the guidance of our Chefs. The class will end with a lunch and, participants bring home a cooking recipe and a goodie pack.

  RECIPE  
 
SAUTEED CHINESE YAM WITH SWEET PEAS AND STUFFED MUSHROOMS
Serves 4 persons, Recipe by Chef Hu Shu Sheng of Canton Paradise
 
Sauteed Chinese Yam Ingredients:
150g fresh Chinese Yam, peeled and sliced
100g sweet peas
6 fresh shiitake mushrooms, cleaned and stalks removed
100g minced meat
10g black moss pre-soaked in water
1 tsp minced garlic
3 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp corn starch
1 tsp Chinese wine Sugar
Pinch of salt
Cooking oil for frying
Preparation Method:
1. Mix black moss, minced meat, 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce and 1 teaspoon of sugar together, and set aside.
2. Stuff the minced meat mixture into the fresh mushrooms. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil and fry the stuffed mushrooms for about 1 minute or until cooked.
3. Boil a small pot of water and add pinch of salt and sugar, before adding the Chinese yam and sweet peas. Simmer for 1 minute and remove from pot.
4. Mix 4 tablespoons of water, 1 teaspoon of corn starch, 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce and a pinch of sugar. Stir well and set aside.
5. Stir-fry minced garlic till fragrant in 2 tablespoons of oil then add Chinese yam, sweet peas and stuffed mushrooms. Stir-fry for 10 seconds on low heat.
6. Add in corn starch mixture and Chinese wine; mix well with all ingredients for 10 seconds. Serve immediately.
